"Citraclean is a liquid concentrate with single step process used to disinfect and decalcify Hemodialysis machine. It is a very effective disinfectant because of the synergistic effects of its natural ingredients. Reference: Blood purification 2004; 22(5):461-8

Composition: Citric acid IP 21% w/w +Lactic acid IP+ Malic acid IP + Purified water Q.S.

Mode of action : Citraclean works effectively by: Destructing the phospholipids layers in the cell membrane;

• Disturbance of the intracellular Ph balance;
• Activity strongly increased by an increasing temperature, i.e. at 83oC with exposure time of 15 minutes gives excellent Virucidal, Bactericidal, Fungicidal, Tuberculacidal properties.

Decalcification: Formation of Ca/Mg salts are salt complexes helps in the removal of calcium and magnesium deposits to reduce Hemodialysis machines break down.

Press cleaning key: It is not necessary to test resudual citric acid if Citraclean used, since it is a decaying agent which is formulated in a non-toxic solution.

Directions for use: Citraclean should be attached to the machine Citraclean should be heated (>60oC) for efficient results Ensure that power and water supply to the machine are operational. Turn on the machines Important steps to be taken into consideration.

Before activating disinfecting program:

• The dialysis lines are connected to the shunt(rinse bridge)
• The shunt door is closed. The concentrate suction tubes are in the appropriate rinse parts
• The inter lock plate of the bibag connector is closed
• The optical detector does not sense blood
